SurgAR secured €2.5M from Sofimac Régions, Kreaxi, D-Novafund and G-Surge Consulting
SurgAR, a Clermont-Ferrand, France-based medical developer of an augmented reality in laparoscopic surgery, announced securing funds totalling €2.5M.
The money includes equity of €1.75M ($2.1M) raised from investors including Jérémie Innovation 2 managed by Sofimac Régions, Kreaxi, CACF Capital Innovation (Groupe Crédit Agricole Center France), D-Novafund and Gsurge Consulting.
Clermont Auvergne Innovation (CAI) and the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital also participated in the operation as academic partners.
SurgAR, founded in 2019 and led by CEO Nicolas Bourdel, develops augmented reality software for laparoscopic surgery. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery that is performed with a camera (the surgeon works through a screen) and very small incisions. Its AR surgery assistance software provides the surgeon with organ transparency by merging preoperative imaging with the surgical view in real time.
