Piloxxa, a Stockholm, Sweden-based medtech startup, raised SEK 2.5M ($310k) in a seed investment round.

The money comes from local angel investors, including Eva Redhe, Thomas Eklund and Fredrik Sjödin and will be used to further test the company's platform pilot in clinical trials at five hospitals around Sweden.

Piloxxa, founded in 2015 by Francesco Mazzotta (CEO), Helena Rönnqvist, Viktor Eriksson and Per Nilsson, has developed a smart pillbox with embedded sensors, connected to a mobile application, that alerts people who forgot to take medication. The company is in testing phases, with plans to launch in 2018.
